– Grassroots Approach to Gun Safety –

Two local chapters of Everytown for Gun Safety respond in protest. Students Demand Action organized a powerful walkout on the steps of the South Building at UNC Chapel Hill to the August 28th, 2023 on campus shooting. Moms Demand Action gathered in Winston Salem for a vigil to honor five victims who lost their lives in a shooting on June 3rd, 2022. Upon attending both gatherings I documented some of the the raw emotion seen and felt throughout these events. Both groups advocate nationwide for gun reform and safety. Their actions were a call for urgent reform and solidarity in the fight for safer communities.
