TOURISM // Visit Fayetteville

– The Best is ‘Yette to Come –

I love a tourism project—big, small, local, or international. No matter the scope or location, there’s always an opportunity to see new and familiar places with fresh eyes. When I was tapped for Fayetteville, NC’s “Have You Done It ‘Yette?” campaign, I was excited to learn more about the city’s culture, history, and opportunities for exploration.

After a day outside, you might have a hankering for a snack and a beverage. We found both in Fayetteville’s historic downtown district. Shooting that scene involved a live band playing (at full volume) for a restaurant full of extras. Orchestrating that many elements is always a challenge, but it was more than worth it for the energy that shines through in the images.

Over the course of a week in Fayetteville’s urban center and sprawling rural areas, this shoot drew out some customized creative strategies. We shot partially submerged to capture images at the water’s surface at Yakalacky Outfitters, and made sure our adventure with the go-karts at Sweet Valley Ranch had just the right amount of mud splatters. (You can see those tricks in action in the BTS video below!)
