BID ON BRUNSWICK

– Fast-Paced Workdays, Slow-Moving Beach Days –

Brunswick County, on the NC coast between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, is open for business. I captured images as part of a new campaign and website for Brunswick Business & Industry Development, which was looking to highlight the area’s attractiveness as a hotspot for new companies—and its laid-back leisure options when the day’s work is done.

To support the campaign’s “Bid on Brunswick” concept, we focused on the county’s draw as a new location for startups and expanding businesses. First up: land. With plenty of open land available for development, including two megasites of over 1,000 acres, Brunswick has a lot of space to offer.

Next up: access. With twelve nearby highways and an array of airports, seaports, and railways, companies that depend on shipping or travel to client sites can get people and products where they need to go. And, lastly, local universities and tech programs offer a constant flow of skilled employees. We visited transportation hubs, workplaces, and learning centers to show the infrastructure and human capital that can help businesses grow. Using a drone, we captured expansive aerial images of open spaces and transit systems.

Of course, there’s more to life than work. Brunswick County also provides miles of beautiful coastline, more than a few golf courses, and the community mindset that binds the smaller cities and towns of NC together. We also shot some images of what that could look like on a daily basis: runs along the beach and relaxing weekend mornings at the local coffee shop. In short, this campaign supports the idea that it’s possible to find growth and success in emerging parts of the South—and invites them to explore Brunswick County for their next move.
