¡VIVA MÉXICO!

– Travel in the “Before Times” –

I flew to Mexico City last summer for a few days of urban living, bouncing from a lucha libre match to hole-in-the-wall taquerías to The Blue House, home of artist Frida Kahlo. Day trips to nearby historical sites, like the pyramids of Teotihuacán and the freshwater canals of Xochimilco, gave way to total relaxation as I continued south to the Oaxacan coast.

Looking back now, our ease of movement and openness to mingling with new friends feels a million miles away from our current reality. For the foreseeable future, this kind of travel is off-limits for most of us; when it’s safe to hop a flight to parts unknown again, I’ll feel a special kind of gratitude as we rise into the clouds.
